The city at one time served as the fashion capital of the Czech Republic, called Novy Jicin, and is located 32 km from Ostrava .  In 1799 in Novy Jicin was opened millinery production and male cylinders .  The factory was called "Hyukelya" and produced extremely interesting instances in which, without exaggeration, was in love with the whole of Europe .  Hats from Novy Jicin enjoyed the crazy demand .  They bought the aristocrats and members of royal families, wealthy bourgeois and creative people .  Although the factory has released thousands of hats, sunk into oblivion, many hats survived .  They formed the core of the collection of cylinders and hats, which is now exhibited in the city museum .  For the museum identified the town hall, built in the XVI century and is considered one of the most beautiful city buildings .  The museum was opened in 1949 and has since worked without a hitch .  The most valuable exhibits of his felt hat once belonged to famous people, for example, A .  Jirásek, F .  Palacký etc. .

According to the detractors of the neighboring towns, Hat Museum - the only thing that can be seen in Novy Jicin.
