Church Konsesan Vella (Immaculate Conception) is located in Madalena, near the Praça do Comércio. Not far from the church Konsesan Vella is the Cathedral of Lisbon. This is one of the oldest churches in the country and is an excellent example of Manueline architectural style, which has been preserved to this day. The church as it is squeezed between the houses and out into the street.

The church was built in the early sixteenth century and was called the Church of Misericordia (Mercy). Previously on the site of the church was a synagogue, built in the XV century. During the Lisbon earthquake in 1755 the church was destroyed, he survived only a portal building and one inner chapel. Restoration of the church was engaged architect František Antonio Ferreira. After the reconstruction of the church was called the church Konsesan Vella, and the brotherhood of Mercy moved to Saint-Roch Church.

The Church - one-nave, chancel inside there, it is adjacent to the sacristy, from which you can get to the courtyard. The walls of the presbytery are made of marble. The vaulted ceiling is decorated with stucco decorations, and the walls are decorated with tiles. There baptismal font, left of the altar, and six lateral chapels. There is also a pulpit. Entrance to the church is crowned by a triangular pediment. Manueline style is also used in decorating portikoy - striking two carved pilasters, which form a large arch above the portico. Above the portico decorated with the image of the Virgin Mary with two angels who support her long gown. Mantle of the Virgin Mary covered kneeling figure of King Manuel I, Queen Eleanor, Pope Alexander VI, and others. You can get inside through double arched doorway framed by pilasters with ornament. The side windows of the church are decorated with columns depicting the faces of the saints.
