Schumann House is a museum, which was established in the house where the great German composer Robert Schumann lived for four years with his wife Clara. This well-known conductor, teacher and music critic who worked in the era of romanticism, made famous around the world, "Spring Symphony" was written during a stay in this building.

It is often visited by such great composers as Felix Mendelssohn, Franz Liszt and Hector Berlioz. Currently operates a museum here, occupying three living rooms, is located in the rest of the music school, which bears the name of Clara Schumann, a talented teacher and pianist of his time. At the concerts of the composer's wife frequently performed works by her beloved husband.

Robert Schumann founded in 1843, the Leipzig Conservatory, he was an excellent music critic, which allowed him to become the head of their own periodicals, who bore the title of "New music newspaper."

The house-museum of Schumann stores various personal belongings of the composer and his wife, including numerous letters and documents, notes, scores, instruments and manuscripts. A special place in the exposition belongs to sketches and drafts, unfortunately, unfinished works. Here each visitor can get acquainted with the musical archive of this outstanding family, view photos of the time, the historical documents that tell about the facts of the life and work of Robert Schumann.

In the room where the composer during his life served to guests their works, now to the public concerts, which you can always hear the musical creations of the great personality, lived in this house in the XIX century.
