Old Town Hall is a historical building in Leipzig, the city was located here before the municipality. The first town hall appeared in the XIV century, it was later greatly expanded by connection to the cloth and trading houses, is nearby.
In the 50 years of the XVI century, the building has undergone a partial demolition and reconstruction, Old Town Hall acquired the elements of the Renaissance style, helped by the works of the architect and mayor of Leipzig, Hieronymus Lotter. The result of his work was the appearance of elongated buildings decorated with 8-coal tower above the entrance and high loft. The main entrance to this historic building is located not in the center, but asymmetrically, closer to the northern facade.
