National Park "Torndirrap" is located 10 km south of Albany on the shore of the Strait of King George. The park is famous for its rock formations carved by the wind and the harsh waves of the Southern Ocean: Window Bridge, Shell and others - all of them for thousands of years were machined out of granite.

National Park "Torndirrap" was founded in 1918 - one of the first in Western Australia. He was named Australian Aboriginal tribe, who lived in these places. Today, this park is one of the most visited in the state - the number of visitors reaches 250 thousand per year.

The park consists of three types of rocks, one of which - gneiss - formed 1300-1600 million years ago! This rock can be seen on the cliffs of Windows. Granite rocks were formed later, when Australian plate separated from the Antarctic about 1.16 billion years ago. They can be seen on top of the stone hill.

Flora of the national park "Torndirrap" presented cotton bushes, peppermint trees, swamp gum trees, different types of Banks and forest curry. Here grow cotton very rare shrub Albany and the world's only population of the blue lily.

Among the animals of the park - kangaroos, bush rats, dwarf and short-nosed bandicoots cuscuses. A lot of reptiles, including tiger snake, ehiopsis, spotted and ringed python brown snake. In 1976, we discovered here a very rare type of shrew. Bird Park is not less diverse - medososy, New Zealand starlings trehperstki and many sea birds. On the rocks can often be seen swimming by whales and sea lions.

On the park laid a lot of hiking trails of not more than 1, 5 km. Only one trail has a length of 10 kilometers - it leads along the peninsula to the eastern tip of Flinders Park. During a walk along the coastal part of the park should be extremely cautious and careful not to go equipped trails - there has been reported a few accidents when deviated from the route the tourists swept away directly into the raging ocean waters suddenly flown wave.
