Manerba del Garda - a quiet resort town on the western shore of Lake Garda, located in the valley of Valtenesi. According to the latest census, it is home to a little more than 4 thousand people. The name of the town, apparently, comes from the name of the goddess Minerva.

The first people appeared on the territory of modern Manerba even in the Mesolithic, but perhaps the most important discoveries are those that belong to the era of ancient Rome, and dated to the 1st century BC - is the ruins of ancient Roman villas. In the Middle Ages the town was built by the Rocca - a powerful fortress, for the right of ownership which fought Guelphs and Ghibellines, and later breshiantsy and Gentlemen of Verona. When in the 15th century Manerba became part of the Venetian Republic, its strength has long ceased to serve military purposes. The Venetians were the masters of the land until 1796, when Napoleon's troops came here. At the same time the city became part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Manerba Today, the economy based on the production of fine wine - Chiaretto, Rosso, Rosso Superiore. At the same time an important source of income for the residents are fishing and, of course, tourism - the resort is particularly popular among the residents of Brescia. In the district of Pieve Vecchia, you can visit the ancient church of Santa Maria Assunta, built in the 5th century, but considerably modified in the 11th century. Another interesting church - Santa Lucia - costs around Balbiana and solarolo in the town worth visiting the church of San Giovanni and the Santissima Trinita Dekollato. Special mention deserves the medieval fortress Rocca, towering over the city and offers visitors excellent views of the surrounding countryside. From there you can see the island of San Biagio, situated directly opposite the coast of Manerba.

Very near the town of Golf Club «Garda Golf Club», in which you can play golf. Also in the summer, you can go on a small cruise along the coast and enjoy water skiing.
