Complex Myōshin-ji temple is the center of Zen Rinzai in Japan. The same name is and the direction of the Rinzai teachings, in which the master for a particular student selects certain koans, but does not offer to reflect on each of them. Rinzai owned three thousand temples and monasteries of 19 across the country. The ensemble Myōshin-ji, which is located in the northwest of Kyoto, there are more than 50 places of worship and other buildings.

The main church of the monastery was founded in 1342 monk-Kandzan Egan Zenji. One of the temples Myōshin-ji - Taydzoin widely known for rock garden, which is recreated in the 60-ies of XX century on drawings the artist Kano Monotobu, who lived in the XV century. XV century, namely the Onin war years, which took place mainly in the Japanese capital of Kyoto, become destructive to the monastery. Many of its buildings have been seriously damaged, but after a while they recovered.

Taydzoin is a small temple complex, on its territory there are three gardens. Rock Garden, a project that belongs to the medieval artist and Zen master Kano, situated near the building of the temple abbot. The stones here are the waterfall and the island choir. The backdrop for the stone landscape are the evergreen pine and camellia. The garden is considered to be a very valuable legacy of the master.

Near Taydzoin is another rock garden, where you can see two of the plot embodied in the stone and sand. In the first - the stones lie on the sand pink color, its hue emphasize the growing cherry trees next, especially during its flowering. In the second story used the sand white.

Center of the composition of the third temple garden Taydozin called Yoko-en is a waterfall, whose waters flow into the pond, surrounded by flowers and plants. The author of this garden is the architect Kinsaku Nakane, who laid a garden in the middle of the 60s of the last century.
