Church of St. Cross, located near the city walls, has some features of defensive architecture. The beginning of its construction refers to 1300, but the main amount of appeared later. Built in the tradition of temple hall type, with a single nave church preceded by a square-plan tower with a belfry steeple spire. The roof is covered with tiles. Restrained outer appearance of the temple contrasts with the rich decoration of the interior. From the central, circular pillar fan disperse stone ribs ribs. Originally built as a hospital church, from the end of the XIX century the church became a parish church Cracow actors and a theater audience.
