The Church of St. Adalbert in present-day Kielce appeared before the founding of the city .  We can say that it is with the construction of the temple and the city began .  With the advent of this church is an interesting legend associated .  It is said that earlier in the place where now stands Kielce, is a forest rich in game .  It liked to hunt wealthy gentlemen .  One day, the son of King Boleslaw the Brave and Mieszko lost lay down to rest on the picturesque glade .  He had a terrible dream in which the enemy tried to poison him .  Salvation came from St. Adalbert, armed with a stick, which appeared next to the bag and held on the ground invisible line that separated from the sleeping enemies .  The line designated staff suddenly began ringing creek .  When the King's son awoke, he found next to him is not known as there appeared a trickle .  Without the intervention of a higher power he has not been decided bag, and then founded the church in honor of his rescuer and the city of Kielce . 

The Church of St. Adalbert was built in the X century. The wooden church, around which people were buried up to the XVIII century stood intact. Neither fire nor war does not affect its appearance. Only in 1763, Canon Ian Rogallo has initiated the construction of the new church of stone. The church was designed in the Baroque style. In 1885, under the direction of architect Francis Xavier Kowalski temple rebuilt and give it the appearance we see today.

The interior of the church since 1889, survived three images, written by Ian joints. This is the main altar fresco "Multiplication of Bread" and two paintings in the side altar - "Saint Rosalia" and "St. Francis."
