Scientists have so far there is no consensus about the history of the origin of the name of the cape, but many are inclined to believe that "chirakaman" means "light", "Torch." Perhaps this is due to the fact that the Cape has long served as a landmark for ships.

History of Cape Chirakman very interesting: the first settlers settled here as early as the 5th century BC. e. Because of the strong earthquake, many buildings were destroyed, but, nonetheless, some have survived to the present day. Tourists can admire the ruins of temples, walls and other historic buildings. In the seventies of the last century, a group led by Vasil Vasilev found that at the edge of the cape was a church, belonging to the period of early Christianity. 500m from the Cape of archaeologists discovered a large necropolis, built in the XIV-XVII centuries.

On Chirakmane repeatedly conducted archaeological excavations. Found items: gold and bronze jewelry, amphorae and vessels, weapons, various coins - are now stored in the historical museum of Kavarna. The abundance of resources found evidence that in ancient times there was an active trade with neighboring cities and countries. In 1902, local residents found a treasure on the Cape. Gold ornaments and figurines have also been transferred to the museum in Kavarna.

At the foot of Chirakman are caves where archaeologists found traces of life of the people of the Neolithic period (7-3 thousand years BC. E.).
