Lieb Castle Liebenstein is often called the palace. It is located in the same village over a small river.
Unfortunately, to this day the castle was preserved not in the best condition. Since 2008, they engaged the architects and builders who are trying to restore its former glory.
But there were times when a powerful fortress, rising near Frantiskovy Lazne, awe-inspiring to all foreign invaders. It was created by wealthy feudal lord Rupert New-Liebenstein, at the same time as the town around it - in the XIII century. Just 40 years later the castle is no longer mentioned in any chronicle, based on what historians make the assumption that the owner of the castle, died without heirs, and the building itself began to crumble unattended.
Only in 1346 the castle remembered and handed him over to the possession of a Frantisek whose descendants laid the Castle as desperately needed cash. Then he broke the Czech king and gave him one of his vassals, who immediately sold the old property appeared Zedvitsov. This family owned the castle until Lieb World War II, when the palace was confiscated by the state. However, the Czech Republic and the case was not to some fortress on the border with Germany. Castle dilapidated, and in 2008 even almost burned down because of the negligence of the guards.
Castle, despite the fact that it is undergoing renovations, is open to visitors, but today the tourists are reluctant to come here, preferring the more famous buildings of this kind.
