At the top of Jáchymov is a temple, consecrated in the name of All Saints, which locals call the hospital, as it was later in the hospital attached. This modest church is the oldest timber-framed sacred building in the Ore Mountains. It was built in 1516 as the parish church of the village Konradsgrun. At the moment, in front of us is the oldest architectural monument of the city, which has not changed for many centuries past.
In 1530 next to the church was built a hospital, the patients that fall on the service by clicking on a special corridor linking the building of the hospital and church. A little later, the temple was built around the crypt intended for the burial of deceased hospital patients. When the crypt became overcrowded, the dead were buried around the church. Thus, around the church of All Saints appeared the first city cemetery.
Church several times on the verge of destruction, but the rich Jáchymov in no hurry to invest in its repair. Priests and poor parishioners had to search for solutions to this problem. Once the desired amount of money has been received from the sale of iron sepulchral tablets. At the beginning of the XX century cemetery wall it leaned dangerously toward the temple and could fall at any time, causing significant damage to the building. It strengthened the additional supports, thus avoiding costly repairs.
The temple is now the acting, so get into it during worship.
