One of the main and perhaps the most interesting attractions of the island of Hydra is the convent of St. Eupraxia. The temple is located in a surprisingly beautiful location among pine and cypress trees on the slope of Mount Eros (588 m), at an altitude of about 500 meters above sea level.

Monastery of the Holy Eupraxia was built in the 19th century. It is a small, friendly complex, the main KATHOLIKON differs quite simple architecture. The road to the monastery winds down the mountainside, and offers a truly breathtaking scenery. A walk will take approximately 40-45 minutes. Today, the monastery of the Holy Eupraxia lives only a few nuns. Within the walls of the monastery, they organized a small workshop embroidery, where you can if you want to buy a souvenir beautiful handmade products.
