Elvsborgsky Bridge is a suspension bridge over the river Göta Älv in Gothenburg. It was built in the 60s of the 20th century, to interconnect the northern and southern parts of the city. The bridge length of 933 meters above the river rises to 45 meters and the height of its towers is 107 meters. In 1993 he decided to paint the bridge in the green, that was dedicated to the World Championship in Athletics, held in Gothenburg in 1995. Elvsborgsky Bridge is one of the main and the most recognizable symbols of the city.

Sven Olof Asplund and Allan Bergefelt Elvsborgskogo drafted a bridge, the cost of which was initially estimated at 56 million. SEK, but the grand total, including the cost of connecting wires, exceeded the amount of 130 mln. CZK. Work began in the autumn of 1963 and was fully completed only in December 1967. Originally, the bridge was part of a three-kilometer city highway Älvsborgsbron Trail, and was built under the project for the expansion of the road network.

May 11, 1966 at 12 o'clock was lifted last section of the Bronze flight in the middle of the bridge, and on 15 October the same year, 40 trucks loaded with gravel for a total of 900 tons, drove over the bridge. Elvsborgsky bridge was inaugurated on November 8, 1966 Minister of Transport Sweden - Olof Palme.

In the local press there were fears at first that the Swedish name "Elvsborgsky bridge" will be hard to pronounce, so there have been proposals to rename it to "West Bridge". However, during the vote a majority of votes were cast for the original Swedish version of the name.
