Bark "Viking" is a four-masted ship built in 1906 by the Danish company Burmeister Wain in Copenhagen. Today it is the largest sailing ship ever built in Scandinavia.

Initially, the "Viking" was built as a training ship for the needs of the rapidly growing Danish merchant fleet. While seaworthiness and tonnage of a ship is a priority. In July 1909 during the transportation of wheat from Australia, where the bark was loaded to the maximum, Captain Niels Clausen recorded speed record in the logbook: 15, 5 knots (28, 7 km / h). February 25, 1917 "Viking" was spotted and stopped by the Germans, who, however, allowed him to continue on his way, as being the property of the Danish ship was neutral. It was a very happy coincidence, because in the next few weeks Germany will revert to unrestricted naval warfare, a tactic which means that the ship is subject to immediate sinking.

In 1929, the "Viking" was registered under the Finnish flag and attached to the sailing fleet Erickson, which was based on the Aland Islands. Bark was part of the fleet until 1950. Erickson. In the late 1940s, the "Viking" had to be disposed of, but the Swedish government saved the ship, and it was moored in 1950 in the guest harbor of Gothenburg, where he is now. Due to the low bridges that separate the sea from a sailboat, the barque "Viking" hardly ever will go to the open sea again. Currently, the ship converted into a hotel "Viking".
