Great Mill - water mill, situated in the northern part of the Old Town of Gdansk. It is one of the largest agricultural buildings of the Middle Ages.

The mill was built by the monks of the Teutonic Knights Order in 1350. Among the many industrial buildings of that time, the mill was considered as one of the largest in Europe. In 1391 he suffered in the fire. In February 1454 Prussian alliance began an uprising against the Teutonic Knights, supported by the Polish king Casimir IV. As a result, the Order lost control over West Prussia, and the earth (with mill) departed the Kingdom of Poland.

In 1836 the mill was upgraded 12 water wheels were replaced with 18 turbines installed. The mill was used for other purposes until the end of the Second World War, during which was partially destroyed. The building of the mill operated a warehouse, and a bakery. After the war, restored mill, until 1991, she worked for its intended purpose. In 1993 the mill was converted into a modern shopping center, within which can be seen today and the former mill wheel.
