The famous Mount Ararat is located approximately 300 kilometers east of Erzurum, near a small town Dogubayazita, near the Iranian border. Its summit (5165 m) is covered with eternal snow, and on a clear day is visible from afar. According to biblical legend, Ararat after the Great Flood Noah's Ark landed. Since 1920, the Peace Treaty of Leninakan Mount Ararat, the sacred mountain of the Armenians belong to Turkey.
