One of the youngest churches Ceske Budejovice would never have been built if it were not for the generous donations of the citizens for the construction of another church - the Cathedral of St. Nicholas. People gathered at the building of the temple half a million crowns. The facility was very much. The cathedral was richly decorated, and the money still remained. Then, the local bishop, Josef Antonin resoundingly decided to give them to the construction of another temple. To this end, in 1913, he was chosen the right size area on the outskirts of Ceske Budejovice.
Over the next two years the church was built. The builder, who led the work, - Antonin Prochazka - erected a neat building in Neo-Romanesque style. The author of the project of the church was made by Anton Moeller Emmaus. In 1915 the church was consecrated and began to accept members. A year after the opening of the temple there were monks of the Dominican Order, which took over the management of this church. They manage here until 1923, and then were forced to take off all the powers. In 1925, the church became the spiritual center of the parish.
The church is equipped with two bell towers. Getting to the top is possible, using small open ladders, which are located on the roof. The west tower has a large bell, which was cast in the middle of the last century. The lobby of the tower is decorated with reliefs, which depict biblical characters.
In 2010 the church was closed for restoration, during which the facade was repaired, the roof replaced, the works in the interior of the church.
