Brest Resurrection Cathedral, a monument in honor of the Great Victory was founded in 1992 and was built for the 50th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The initiator of the construction of the cathedral was the Rev. Eugene Parfenyuk - one of the oldest priests Belarusian Exarchate, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War.
The construction of the Resurrection Cathedral was conducted on the project group of the Institute of Architects' Brestgrazhdanproekt "the money raised by parishioners. Construction led the construction management organization "Brestselstroy."
The Cathedral is made up of the upper church of the Resurrection, the lower church in honor of Our Lady of Kazan and the high bell tower. The first worship in the temple is still under construction took place in 1995 at the Annunciation. Completely unfinished cathedral was consecrated by the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexy II, June 24, 2001.
The temple is an ancient icon of the Mother of God of Bogolyubovo. On the bell tower of the church there is a 400-pound bell. Near the temple is divided Oak Alley.
The building is the bell tower of a museum of memory of victims of the Great Patriotic War and the glory of a victorious warrior over the Nazi invaders. The church organized by the sisterhood in honor of Our Lady of Kazan, engaged in compassionate help those in need. At Resurrection Church and Sunday school for children, dealing with the spiritual education of children. The school is organized four classes.
Sept. 23, 2003 Brest Resurrection Cathedral was granted the status of spiritual historical and cultural value of Belarus.
