Bergenhus Fortress was founded in the Middle Ages, but from the original buildings were only fragments of the basement - everything collapsed in the explosion of a ship in the harbor of Bergen in 1944.
After the war were restored two buildings in the fortress - Rosenkrantz Tower, named after its architect, and the palace of King Hakon Hakonsona, built in the XIII century in the style of English Gothic. Of particular note is recreated Gothic Hall Hakon where until now hosts a variety of ceremonies and celebrations.
