Gallery gemstone was discovered in the town of Kemi in the former Maritime Customs. The building was built in 1912 in Art Nouveau style by architect Walter Thomen.
It collected the richest collection in Europe, consisting of more than 3,000 precious stones, minerals and a variety of decorations, donated to the museum jeweler Teivo Uruana in 1994, which collected polished and rough stones from early childhood. Collector found or bought their exhibits during numerous trips to the most different corners of the world.
The museum is a golden crown, weighing 2 kg, with four large pearls specially manufactured for the sole uncrowned king of Finland - Väino. The exhibition includes copies of crowns belonging to the monarchs of Great Britain and Scandinavia. Striking for its exceptional beauty of a replica of a sparkling 647-yu diamond necklace of Marie Antoinette.
After visiting the museum, you will hear mysterious stories about the life of kings and jesters, whose fate is closely linked with iridescent stones.
At the local shop you can buy for yourself lucky stone, jewelry, children's toys, a variety of souvenirs, books, stamps and postcards.
