One of the most amazing waterfalls of Bashkortostan located in the Arkhangelsk region and has the name Atysh, which translated from the Bashkir - "shooting", "striker." "Shooting" waterfall - a way out of the grotto (Atyshskaya Cave) on the surface of the eponymous underground river, escaping from the mountain Yash-Kuz-Tash. Waterfall formed in the mountain for millions of years ago by two underground rivers - Agui and Atysh previously had a strong flow and erupted with greater height. Eventually (thousands of years), the erosion of the rock, the stream has teamed up and went down below. In the spring, when filling meltwater streams out of the rock waterfall erupts almost two meters and a vertical height of the falls into the pool of a small lake. The diameter of the lake created by the waterfall, about twenty meters, and the depth in some places reaches ten meters. Atysh as all underground sources, it has a constant year-round water temperature (4 degrees).
North of the Falls is a unique place where the river and Atysh Agui, merging into one channel, fade in Ponor, a few kilometers to be on the surface as a mighty stream, smashing rocks. Place the disappearance of the two streams aboriginals called Atysh-Sumgait, which translated from the Bashkir "Atysh dove."
Atysh Waterfall is a natural monument and one of the most popular tourist destinations in Bashkortostan. The peculiarity of the waterfall - in the winter time the frozen streams of water, hovering in the air, are the incredible beauty of the spectacle.
