Hoshiv Basilian Monastery - a famous place of pilgrimage for believers Greek Catholics from different countries. Monastery near Goshev first mentioned in documents in 1509. Initially Hoshiv monastery located in the natural boundary Red Dilok. In the XVII century the monastery was burned by the Tartars and rebuilt already in Jasna Gora, where he is now.
Initially, the monastery building was made of wood. In the years 1835-1842 it was dismantled and built of stone. The heyday of the monastery took place during the headship of Metropolitan A. Sheptytsky. Before the First World War, the monastery was one of the biggest spiritual centers in Galicia. In 1939, the Soviet government began to persecute the Greek-Catholic monks and therefore tried to close the monastery. In spite of everything, it lasted until 1950, when he was eliminated completely. In the early 1990s the monastery revived with the support of the faithful.
