Tipu's Summer Palace is located on the territory of the fort city of Bangalore. Start of construction was initiated in 1781 by the ruler Haider Ali Khan, and was fully completed in 1791 during the reign of Tipu Sultan, who turned the palace into a summer residence and proudly called it "the envy of heaven."

The palace is a mainly wooden structure, made in typical Islamic style. This small two-storey building with a flat roof, on all sides surrounded by magnificent gardens, followed by carefully tended. The most distinctive features of the palace are richly decorated balconies, carved columns and arches, painted in brown and pale yellow. Some internal walls of the building in red, and some, like ceilings, fully painted elegant floral patterns that have survived are not very good, but still in some places is still clearly visible. The palace is famous for its distinctive interior that can not fail to fascinate.

The first floor of the palace is now a museum dedicated to Tipu Sultan .  Here you can see not only documents that indicate the successful reign of Tipu and a plaque on which are listed the reforms that he introduced, but also a collection of paintings, which depict the palace, made at different times during the 1800s .  The museum is located and a copy of the famous toy "Tiger Tipu", the original of which is kept in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London .  In addition, it is possible to admire and cloth with the image of the golden throne adorned with emeralds, which the governor has vowed not to get up until the final defeat will not cause the British Army .  But in 1799, during the Fourth Anglo-Mysore War, Tipu was killed and his possessions seized, and the throne was cut into pieces and sold at auction, because, due to its huge cost, he was unable to get one person .  After the establishment of British rule in the palace is located the British administration .
