Church at the Autobahn

One of the most interesting churches in Baden-Baden - the church from the highway. It is located not far from the road A5 and certainly attracts attention with its interesting form. Modern pyramid bears little resemblance to the outline of the church, but the interior of the church is much more traditional.

The idea of such an unusual shape for such buildings came up to Frederick Zwingmann, and the church itself is named after St. Christopher, which is traditionally a guardian of the drivers and sailors. The very structure was built of wood in combination with concrete and glass, but it produces a surprisingly easy experience. The interior space of the church to modernize, but at the expense of the circle, which is displayed not only in the design of the altar, but also in the stained-glass windows, creating the illusion of involvement in the action, regardless of the location of a person within the church.

Interestingly, in addition to traditional services are often held concerts of choirs and speakers, by the way, it makes it possible to perform serious works so grand, that is breathtaking. Anyone who has ever visited this church always comes back again and again, because the unique atmosphere of the temple has become known not only in Germany but also abroad.
