Porto Rafti or Limani-Mesogion (Mesogion Port) - one of the most beautiful seaside towns on the east coast of Attica, located in the plains to the east of Mount Hymettus (GIMET). Porto Rafti is located 38 km from the capital of Greece, and in close proximity to the new Athens International Airport.

The city is surrounded by two hills, which isolate it from the rest of Attica and protect against strong winds. The climate is reminiscent of the Aegean islands with relatively mild winters and hot dry summers.

A series of archaeological finds indicate human presence in the area since at least the early Bronze Age (2600-1800 BC). In ancient times and until the collapse of the Roman Empire port city was an important trading place in the region. This port is also known as the place of the evacuation of Allied troops after the German invasion of Greece at the end of April 1941.
