Asuanskaya dam was built in 1970. This colossal structure (3, 5 km long, 1 km wide and 111 m in height) by volume 17 times greater than the pyramid of Cheops. Thanks to the Aswan Dam, called "pyramid of the XX century", it was possible not only to solve the problem of flooding during the flooding of the Nile, but also provide the country with cheap electricity.

In Aswan there is no bridge across the river - to get to the other side can be either on the water or along the crest of the dam. There is an observation deck, which offers a wonderful view of the Aws, the reservoir itself and "pyramid of the XX century".
