Astrakhan State Musical Theater - one of the attractions of the city, whose history goes back to the end of the XIX century. The initiator of the construction of the first theater in Astrakhan was the businessman Konstantin Polyakovich - he ordered to build a summer theater in a large park, broken by his order. At the same time on the basis of the Conservatory and Philharmonic began operating the creative team of "Musical Theatre", which in 1995 became the basis for the creation of the Astrakhan State Music Theatre. Altogether during the existence of the theater delivered more than forty performances of various musical genres - musicals, operas, ballets, children's performances and more. The year 2000 was marked by the creation of the troupe of classical ballet under the direction of Larissa Sivitsky. Two years later, the theater began to work closely with the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, so today, residents and visitors can enjoy operas in Italian.
