The ruins of the ancient city Olinfosa - one of the most significant archaeological sites in Greece. It is located in Chalkidiki, 5 km from the town of Moudania and 24 kilometers south-west of the administrative center of the peninsula Polygyros. There is also an entertaining and Archaeological Museum Olinfosa.

The museum opened its doors to the public in July 1998. Today, the exposure of the Archaeological Museum presents exclusively audiovisual materials, which give sufficiently clear view of the city, as well as detail and talk about the course of archaeological excavations in Olinfose and reconstruction work. Unique artifacts found during excavations of ancient Olinfosa, you can see a superb Archaeological Museum of Polygyros.

The city was built on the principle of urban system the famous Greek architect, city planner Hippodamus Miletus. During the excavation it was found two broad avenues intersecting at right angles over the narrow streets, thereby forming the same size living quarters, each of which consisted of ten two-storey houses with a small internal cobbled courtyard. Houses in ancient Olinfose were equipped with sewage.

Houses were built of river stones and clay. In most homes, the floor is a good hard-packed earth, but few buildings still had a mosaic floor. Probably, these houses belonged to an influential residents Olinfosa. Ancient mosaic of river pebbles well preserved to this day and has a high artistic and historical value (unique mosaics can be seen in the archaeological park Olinfosa).

Photos and text documents submitted to the Archaeological Museum Olinfosa, perfectly illustrate the features of life of local residents, as well as social and economic life of the city.
