Cleto - a town in the province of Cosenza in the Calabria region of Italy, lying on a hill with a panoramic view of the Aeolian Islands and the valley of the river Savuti Pres. Just a few kilometers from the town begins the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Location Cleto on a hill at an altitude of 250 meters above sea level make the local climate is very dry with hot summers and moderately warm winters. The whole area around the town is covered with olive groves, and in the valley of the river Savuti grow oranges and lemons.

Former Cleto in the epoch of the Normans was called Pietramala and only in 1862, the year regained its original name .  Today, it attracts tourists with its historical and architectural monuments, first and foremost, the ancient castle .  It was built by the Normans at the top of Mount St. Angelo, overlooking the surrounding land down to the sea and the village lies at the bottom .  The castle consisted of two cylindrical towers, one of which was over a drawbridge and had the status of the watchtower .  Inside it has a huge vat to collect rainwater, which is used to quench thirst .  In another pan, located under the ground, stored food supplies .  The second tower was divided into two parts - was located on top of fortification, and the lower level is occupied dwellings .  The local ruler, who lived in the castle, had a full power over the inhabitants of Cleto - he could sentence them to death for any crime, and could pardon .  The condemned were thrown into the so-called "Wolf Cave" depth of several hundred feet, so that they died from shock in the fall or from hunger .  But while in the case of natural disasters or other hazards Cleto residents could take refuge in the castle . 

Another attraction is the church of Consolation Cleto - Chiesa della Konsolatsone. It was built in the 17th century, and is notable for its bell tower with a spire of multicolored majolica.
