In the south-eastern town of Asenovgrad is possible to admire the church of St. George. This temple complex, which was erected in the years 1845-1848 in specially designed for his yard, surrounded by high stone walls with a fountain in stone, decorated with mosaics, niches. Above the entrance to the church was later made one-story wooden outbuilding. Initially, the building was used as a temple, which was located in the courtyard of the school.

For its size the church is the largest in the city: it is 35 meters long and 18 meters wide; highest dome reaches 16 meters. The main building was built of white stone brought from the village Korudere (now territory of Turkey). Also in the construction of used mineral syenite mined in the hills near the city of Plovdiv.

Basilica consists of three naves and apses: two rows of six columns of the temple divide the space into three parts. The walls and ceiling inside the complex frescoes depicting the faces of Christ, the saints and angels, as well as scenes from the Bible. The interior is dominated by blue and blue. The roof of the church is decorated with three low towers with cupolas. The central and largest of them - azure. Temple walls are topped by two bell towers, walls are whitewashed and painted with exquisite designs in blue and turquoise colors and murals.
