The house-museum of academician Beketov in the city of Alushta Professor's Lane was built in the Moorish style in 1896. The author of the project was itself AN Beketov. Land for construction of the house the famous architect Beketov gave his father, a well-known Russian physical chemist NN Beketov. Also, AN Beketov, the founder of Kharkov architectural school. For a long time stay in the Crimea, the academician of architecture made a great contribution to the development of the Crimea as a resort. His buildings always harmonize with the urban look and never violated the general view of the current picture.

The opening of the house-museum Beketov took place in November 1987, thanks to the initiative of the VP Tsygannika, with the participation and support of relatives Beketov Alushta city executive committee. The basis of the museum was based on the drawings, documents, photographs, paintings and drawings, personal belongings of the architect, household items, furniture. All this was given to the museum by architect EA daughter Beketov and grandson of FS Rofe-Beketov. The formation of the collection was also attended by other relatives Beketovyh-Alchevskys from Yalta, Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Today the museum has more than a thousand exhibits. The main section of the exhibition tells about the life and work of Academician AN Beketov, his legacy in the Ukraine and the Crimea; the role of the family Alchevskys in the history and culture of Ukraine and Russia. The house-museum has exhibition halls where the works of art masters of the 19th - early 20th century., Contemporary artists of Ukraine and Crimea. Here you can meet artists, scientists, musicians, poets and writers are literary, musical, Orthodox holidays and living in the old family traditions testify.

Beketov family house - a monument of manor architecture. In 20 years of activity, the museum is not only cultural, but also the spiritual center of Alushta.
