Chapin - the most populated village ski Valdisotto. It is located on the banks of the River Adda and on the hillside adjacent to the other villages - Pedemonte Potstsalo, Valchepina. For tourists there are many modern hotels and apartments.

Of the attractions Chapin is to provide a crypt and the parish church of Santa Maria Assunta .  The first is known for its very elegant fence of wrought iron, dating from the 8th century - it is one of the most outstanding works of art in the whole of the Alta Valtellina .  The authors of the fence have traditionally been Kolturi Carlo and Giacomo De Gasperi, but recent archival discoveries made by the parish priest, suggests that the author was a masterpiece Giuseppe Pini and Kolturi and De Gasperi were his assistants .  Fence with a slim iron ornament is located between the round arches and faces four small stone columns, made by sculptors Giacomo and Filippo Skene Bracco .  Other valuable works that adorn the crypt - a mural on the facade, walls and interior arches .  They were made in the 18th century master of Lygaria, Alessandro and Tommaso Billy Valdagno .  Inside the tomb is a marble ark of the 6th century and a bowl of holy water .  Gargoyles, suspended from a parapet, are of particular interest - they were made after the fence and show the traditional motifs of dragons and fantasy creatures .

Parish Church of Santa Maria Assunta is located near the cemetery and the crypt of the 18th century. It was built in the 14th century, but over the past century, was rebuilt several times. The current building was erected in 1856. Above the main entrance is visible fresco late 15th-century work of Giovannino da Sondalo - it depicts saints Gervasio and Protasio, and in the center on the arch - the Holy Trinity. Other frescoes located on the southern facade of the church - a Madonna and Child with Saints. In addition, the facade is adjacent flight of stairs leading to the cloister.

Inside the walls of the church were also found fragments of frescoes of the 15th and 16th centuries. Preserved beautiful wooden altarpiece of the 5th century. Also inside you can see a statue of the Madonna and Child with statues of saints, nativity scene, another wooden altarpiece of the 6th century and paintings Marnie 17th century depicting saints and angels.
