Volmes - a charming mountain village located in the north of the Greek island of Zakynthos among picturesque pine forests, olive groves and vineyards. Volmes is located about 30 km north-west of the capital of the island of the same name at an altitude of 400-480 meters above sea level and offers magnificent landscapes and fantastic panoramic views of the coast of Zakynthos, vast expanses of the Ionian Sea and the island of Kefalonia.

Volmes - a traditional Greek village with its own unique flavor and atmosphere of genuine cordiality and hospitality of local residents. Despite the fact that during a strong earthquake in 1953 Volmes badly damaged, there still remained a lot of old houses with a typical for the region architecture and ancient churches, including the church of Agia Paraskevi with magnificent wall paintings and beautiful ancient icons . Volmes - the perfect place to relax away from the bustle and crowds, enjoying the peace and the unhurried pace of life of local residents. And although in recent years tourism has become gradually grow here, the choice of housing is still very small and reservations need to be concerned in advance.

Volmes is also an excellent starting point for exploring the northern part of Zakynthos and its attractions. Special attention certainly deserve fantastic beauty Navagio Bay, located a few kilometers from Volmesa on the west coast of the island and the famous Blue Caves on the Cape Skinari. Both of these attractions are available to visit only by boat (it's best to organize a tour of the harbor to Agios Nikolaos). Certainly worth a visit and the monastery Anafonitriyas (14-15 th century), where he spent the last years of his life patron saint Dionysios of Zakynthos as well as the monastery of St. Andrew with beautiful ancient frescoes and the monastery of St. George, built in the 16th century. A very interesting museum and park Askos Stone Park.

Volmes famous for excellent handmade lace, carpets, ceramics, as well as the excellent quality of honey, wine and homemade cheese. All this (and much more) you can buy in local shops, of which there are many.
