Mirogoj Cemetery was established in 1876 on the draft Austrian architect Herman Bolle. Attraction is its cemetery entrance gates and arcades along the western wall, which gained eternal rest the rich and famous residents of the Croatian capital.

The cemetery is more like a sculpture park: most famous tombstones performed by Croatian sculptors, including Ivan Mestrovic.
