Ludbreg - a small Croatian town, located on the north of the country, in the Varaždin County. The total number of inhabitants at the beginning of XXI century was almost 3, 5 thousand people in the city and almost 9000, assuming a community center in Ludbreg. It occupies the northern slopes of the hills of Ludbreg Kalnik, near the river poor, very close to the place where it flows into the Drava. To the west of Varazdin is Ludbreg, and the south-east - Koprivnica.

The first mention of the city came in 1320, when he was still wearing a different name - Castrum Ludbreg. In the XVI century, the fortress was repeatedly attacked by the Turkish army, but in spite of everything, she resisted.

It is worth mentioning another fact of the history of this Croatian town, namely at the beginning of the XV century there was a legend about the "miracle Ludbregskom" .  Thanks to him we can safely say that the history of the city and its main attraction is inextricably linked .  According to legend, during the church service, the parish priest doubted the reality of transubstantiation, and immediately after this wine, which was filled with liturgical Bowl turned into a real blood .  Then the priest asked the frightened repaired unusual bowl directly into the wall of the temple, but the rumors about it spread throughout the surrounding area - the pilgrims began to visit Ludbreg .  Relic was taken to Rome, but there it was kept only a small period because after recognizing the authenticity of the miracle of Pope Leo XII in 1513, the cup was transferred back to Ludbreg .  From the moment the relic was kept in the parish church of St. .  Trinity (built in 1410), but in 1721, von Rissenfels of Augsburg goldsmith, put the cup in a luxuriously decorated reliquary .

Resolution of the Croatian Parliament in 1739 in honor of the miracle was ordered to build a new church. All the works have been completed just a few centuries, in 1993, residents and visitors were able to witness the Ludbreg Holy Chapel. Blood of Christ.

In addition, Ludbreg perfectly preserved Batthyány palace, which once belonged to the magnate family from Hungary. Today, the palace is a restoration workshop.

As for interesting events, the year the first month of autumn in the city attracts pilgrims from all over the world to visit the "Holy Week", dedicated to the Eucharistic miracle.
