Entomological Museum at the palace Hertser - one of the attractions of Varazdin, which simply can not ignore.

The building of the palace was built in 1791 in neo-classical style. On the stone portal carved coat of arms of a noble family. Hertsery glorify the fact that in the XVIII century opened a successful mailing business. Because of this the family has become one of the most wealthy and could afford to buy a noble title.

Today, the palace contains a unique collection of entomological professor Franchisha Kozhecha, which is a permanent exhibition called "The world of insects." Reworked and supplemented in the late 1920s, this exhibition is considered one of the finest of its kind in Europe. This fact is also recognized not only by experts, but interested visitors.

Guests of the exhibition will go through several theme rooms: "In the forest", "In the forest and the meadow", "In the water and on the beach", "night" and "in the country." In total, the collection consists of 4,500 exhibits. In addition to the prepared exhibits on display you can see the photos, herbarium, enlarged several times one or another species of insects and other items from the personal collection of Professor Kozhecha. In addition, the collection also includes unique tools and instruments developed by the professor for the study of insects.
