Ueno Park was once a hill, which the shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu valued for the fact that he successfully concealed his palace in the north-east - by Buddhist ideas, from this side usually had to appear evil forces. Tokugawa in 1625, built on this hill family temple Kaneydzi eventually became the burial place of the six shoguns.
Later in Ueno were built and other temples, through which the park can be called the center of religion and culture.
