The main historical attractions of Tangier are in the old part of town - Medina. And at its highest point located a snow-white palace of Dar al-MARS. The building of the palace was built in the XVII century. and once belonged to the Sultan. Richly decorated with mosaics and various decorations palace was made in traditional Arabic style. It is a palace complex with galleries and courtyard patio.
In the palace of Dar al-MARS lived only two of the Sultan of Morocco, and later the palace was used as the residence of the Pasha of Tangier. Halls Palace produces a striking impression: the walls and floors are covered with colorful mosaics, wooden ceilings decorated with oriental wood carvings and colorful paintings. In 1922, the palace was restored and converted into a museum. Beautiful rooms, which in themselves are museum pieces, transformed into the museum halls. The Museum of Art exhibits are stored, which are arts and crafts of the Moroccan people. It is here you can see a rich collection of world-famous Rabat carpets. No less striking in its grandeur and luxury collection of women's jewelery, from which it is impossible to look away. This beautiful belt, openwork diadem, exquisite earrings and bracelets of gold-plated silver and gold inlaid with precious stones in a traditional Spanish-Moorish style. The authors of these works are the master jeweler of Essaouira.
