Taman Cossack Museum is located in Taman, on the beach near the old pier. The museum was created, maintained and updated exhibits thanks to enthusiasts Taman region - Vladimir Ivanovich Bystrov and Valentina Ivanovna, his wife. The exhibits of the museum acquired in the personal savings Bystrov, some accepted the gift. The museum exposition is constantly replenished by new arrivals. Vladimir is a chieftain of the Taman Cossack society, and his wife - the caretaker of the museum.

Historically, the word "Cossack" is derived from the Turkic means - free, not bound by anything human. In Russia, the Cossacks treated people of draft and the so-called tax-paying classes that do not put up with unbearable levies and taxes, and have shied away from them, moving in the southern suburbs of the place. Not every man of that time had the courage to live on the outskirts of Russia, subject to constant raids by Mongols, Turks, the troops of the Crimean Khanate. The Cossacks were of high combat training, cohesion, irrepressible courage, military and consumer savvy.

Cossack museum exhibits are located in several rooms of the headquarters building of the Taman Cossack society. Visit the exhibition begins with the Cossack hut, where in detail recreated Cossack family home environment that allows to present living conditions, materials, furniture and household appliances of the era.

In the second room housed several exhibitions, linked to historical time and place of the event. Here visitors will see objects Cossack utensils, weapons, Cossacks, horse harness, cold steel and firearms, currency notes and coins of different years. Among the items that enjoy the attention of visitors - the original old photos of the Cossacks and their families. Exhibits allow us to trace and change the living conditions of the Cossack class over the years until the mid XX century. Well-lit theme of the Great Patriotic War, samples of weapons, the soldiers' equipment, lots of pictures of the war years.

The exhibition demonstrates the third room a rich collection of wooden soldiers, giving an idea of ​​the appearance and equipment of the soldier Preobrazhensky, Izmailovo, of Peter and the other regiments of the beginning of the XVIII century and later periods.
