A.A.Durova Museum, a representative of the famous circus dynasty, is situated in a small architectural monument "modern" style in the city of Taganrog Frunze Street. The house was built in 1900 and belonged to GF Potselueva.

Family Durov drove about in the beginning of the century on tour across Russia, my father - Anatoly Leonidovich Durov - famous for his humorous and satirical performances and at the same time, not wanting the son of such a fate, sent him to study in the accounting courses. Instead, the young Durov enrolled in drama school I. Chernozubova and soon became quite a talented artist. But because probably genetic relationship, she moved from the theater to the circus Nikitin, where he performed under the name of Tolly.

After his father died in 1916 of typhus, Anatoly together with the troupe in 1920 went abroad on tour. But as the Russian humor was not always understood by foreign audiences, he decided to combine the talent of the actor and trainer, creating a unique "theater of beasts." Europe waited with trepidation touring circus, contracts with 16 countries of Europe and America were covered for 3 years - it was the high point of the artist. On stage at the same time it acted up to 30 animals, and without a trainer, they played well-designed performances.

Since May 1925 A.A.Durov tour in Russia with overwhelming success. Being on tour in Rostov-on-Don was invited to Taganrog on holiday "Day of the City." Here he bought two estates, in which the family Durov and all their animals have settled with September 1926. Since they had more than 300 animals, and they did not fit in the room, some of the artists he settled in the stone building opposite the circus, and everyone can watch for free on the strange animals overseas.

The life of the famous actor broke off suddenly and tragically to tour to India and China, he decided to call in Izhevsk, where in the early 19th century, his great-grandmother lived trooper girl N.A.Durova. Being on a walk, he was shot by unknown reasons. The court, which took almost a year, virtually acquitted the murderer, had appointed him a suspended sentence.

In 1987, in the house where they lived Durov, it was opened an exposition dedicated to the well-known trainer A.A.Durovu. The museum's exhibits tell about the creative way of the artist and his training methods, on foreign tours, disciples and followers, demonstrated a documentary of 1920, shot on his performance, the famous "Dog's wedding." The museum has about 2 thousand original exhibits, documents, contracts, letters of the artist.
