Literary Theatre Museum NM Dyakonov was established in 1989. The official date of its discovery is considered to be 23 June 1989. The museum is named after the famous Komi actor, director, playwright, Honored Artist of Russia, laureate of State Prize, the creator of the famous play "The Marriage of dowry" - NM Dyakonov.

Nikolai Mikhailovich Dyakonov was born and realized his career in the Komi Republic. He comes from Yarensk county Vologda province (now Ust-Vymsky District RK) in a family of peasants. He was a member of the rural amateur performances, and in the early 1930s he played in the first traveling theater of Komi. In 1932-1936 he studied at the Leningrad studio I College of Performing Arts in the Republic of Komi. Since 1936, he became an artist of dramatic theater. From the very beginning of his career on the professional stage Nikolai Deacons proved a bright, distinctive actor and talented director.

Address at the end of the 1930s to the drama Dyakonova considerably enriched the national repertoire. The top of creativity of the playwright - a lyrical comedy "Wedding dowry", which became widely known both in the USSR and internationally.

Every year events are held in Syktyvkar, which are devoted to famous figures of the theater of the Republic of Komi, organizes various exhibitions, quizzes, competitions, clubs, theater festivals.
