Literary-Memorial Museum, IA Kuratov, one of the departments of the National Museum of the Republic of Komi, Syktyvkar is located at the intersection of Kirov and Ordzhonikidze.

Back in the 1930s, he raised the issue of the formation of the museum, IA Kuratov. And in July 1969, on the first floor of a three-story stone house, located in the street Ordzhonikidze, 10 (there was a wooden house of the priest's daughter EI Kazarinova where in 1860 rented accommodation Ivan Kuratov) opened literary-memorial museum the poet, the founder of which was Tamara Chistaleva - enthusiast and devoted fan of Kuratov. And in 2009, the museum moved into the newly renovated building (monument of history and culture) on the same street - in the former home of the merchant Stepan Sukhanov. This building was first mentioned in 1801. In 1850, Sukhanov gave his home town school, between 1924 and 1998 there was a museum.

New exhibition of the museum introduces visitors to the history of literature, language and literature in the region in the XIV-XX centuries. The main sections of the exhibition are: "The emergence of written language Komi-Zyrian," "Komi in the family of Finno-Ugric peoples", "Life and Work IA Kuratov. The history of the discovery and study of the poetic heritage "and others. The central space of the museum exhibition hall occupies a dedicated life and the fate of the founder of Komi literature Ivan Kuratov and history of the discovery of his poetic heritage. Here are miraculously preserved the original books from the library of the poet and his lifetime photo Kuratov. On the basis of two meetings of the furniture originating from residential buildings of the clergy, it recreates the atmosphere of the living room of the second half of the XIX century.

Period 1900-1930-ies presented at the exhibition of documents and objects unique era. Among them there is the manuscript of the poem KF Zhakova "Biarmia" books with inscriptions KF Zhakov, articles, PA Sorokin in the journal "Proceedings of the Society for the Study of the Arkhangelsk Russian North", the letter V. Savin and VT Chistalёva, photo archive of the scientific and violin AS Sidorova, secretary FI Zaboeva - teacher Zhakova unique translated editions of 1920-1930 in the Komi language, a banner with the tribal marks of the 1920s.

About creativity and hard life in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 narrate diary entries, letters from the front, documents, photographs of the war years, awards and personal belongings of writers and poets: V.
