Well-known throughout the former Soviet Union in Sukhumi botanical garden has retained popularity among tourists visiting Abkhazia and in our days. The Botanical Garden has a complicated but interesting story began almost 200 years ago in the distant 1838. On the southern borders of Russia were numerous garrisons, one of them was in the fortress of Sukhum.
