Globen Arena, also known as the Arena, Ericsson (after its purchase of telecommunications company Ericsson in 2009) - is the national indoor sports arena of Sweden, located in Stockholm district Yohanneskhof. Today it is the largest hemispherical building in the world, the construction of which lasted for two and a half years. Arena was opened in 1989.

Globen Arena has the shape of a big white ball whose diameter is 110 meters, and the height inside the building reaches 85 meters. Arena can accommodate up to 16 000 spectators shows and concerts and 13 850 spectators hockey. The shape of the building was not chosen by chance: the arena is the Sun in the solar system project in Sweden. In the implementation of this project we have been complied with as the actual proportion of the size of the planets and their distance from each other. Thus, the planet closest to the sun is also located in Stockholm, but the future - in other cities.

Globen Arena attracts not only willing to go to a concert or a sports game, but also ordinary tourists who want to admire the Stockholm aerial view (130 m above sea level). In 2010, there was a popular attraction opened Skyview, where one of the two glass gondolas, visitors can take a tour of the outside of the southern part of the building.

Globen Arena is not only the center of major events, but also quite often become the center of interesting architectural projects. For example, from May to October 2009, on the roof of Globen Arena could see a small aluminum house (12 sq. M.). The aim of the project is to illustrate two important symbols for Sweden: the construction of high-tech building (Arena) and the traditional, simple architecture, which is embodied and a small country cottage.
