The Bund - a kind of symbol of Shanghai, has a second name "Fair Architecture 10000 states". Translated from the Chinese name of "Bund" means "Outer Beach."

Customs House was built in 1927 at the same location as the building department, which was built in a traditional Chinese architectural style. The clock on the building were made in England and resemble the famous clock 'Big Ben'.

The Bund - a very popular tourist place and one of the most popular sites in Shanghai. In order to keep it in its present form as a unique architectural monument, the authorities do not allow the construction of high-rise buildings on the square near the waterfront.
