Episcopal Vvedensky Nunnery was founded in 1360 by the Moscow Metropolitan St. Alexis in honor of the Virgin Mary as the Lady Monastery. The monastery was completely rebuilt at the end of the XVI century at the expense of Tsar Boris Godunov, but in the XVIII century, fell into decline. In 1806, the monastery was transformed into a female and 20 years of the twentieth century, has been abolished.
Vvedensky cathedral monastery combines its architecture austere simplicity of the XVI century with decorative next century. One of the most interesting buildings of the monastery - the complex dining room, including a refectory, a hip Church. George and the bell tower. Holy Gates with Gate Church Theodotia Ancyra, built in 1599, were subsequently rebuilt and consecrated in honor of the Holy Face of the Savior. Also preserved two-storey building, built in the XVI-XVII centuries and a sister body of the XIX century.
The monastery is surrounded by walls with corner three-tiered towers, stand out bright decor.
