Rovinj City Museum is located within the imperial palace, constructed in the Baroque style, which for two centuries was the residence of the family of the princes Califf. Dear members of the rich and very influential family settled in the Croatian town of Rovinj during the XVII-XVIII centuries.

Architecture Baroque palace perfectly demonstrates the harmonious, sustained, unified style of the period of the Venetian Republic. The building is decorated with Venetian loggia. At the end of the Second World War, the princely residence was transformed into a museum gallery. Initiated a transformation of local artists.

To date, the main museum of the city of Rovinj offers to get acquainted with a collection of paintings by world famous artists. The collection includes more than 1,500 works of art. Immediately exhibited works and the protagonists of contemporary art. Besides the many paintings in the halls of the museum gallery you'll see a lot of different sculptures, folk costumes and models of ships.

Here, visitors will also see the exhibition, consisting of items of Roman emperors and the Middle Ages. The city museum are exhibited and other collection - paintings and sculpture of XV-XIX centuries.
