MPP museum named after the artist VK Nechitailo - art museum, which was founded in Salsk. Year of birth is considered to be a museum in 1977, it was then because of the decision of the authorities of the RSFSR was transferred to the museum collection of art numbering seventy-five units.

Museum to name in honor of the People's Artist of Russia VK Nechitailo, who took an active part in the formation of the first exhibition of the museum. His creations are still the backbone of the main exhibition. Works for the first collection of the museum were brought from various exhibitions from all over the Soviet Union, or write to order, and are the epitome of an era of 50-60-ies of the 20th century. That is the nature of this collection is asked to form the direction in which the museum is open to this day - namely to demonstrate the achievements of modern art. In recent years, the museum exhibits characteristic new trend, which is reflected in the representation of creativity "of the new millennium."
  The museum exhibits works by artists of the Soviet Union, as well as the Don artists - Teryaeva, Skoptsova, AV Timofeev, and others.

At the beginning of 2013, the museum's collection numbered more than three thousand pieces of fine art.
