El Veladero National Park is located south of the State of Guerrero, Acapulco, in the state. National Park status, he received in 1980. Its an area of ​​3160 hectares includes area of ​​Acapulco Bay. National Park abounds with granite rocks of different sizes, on the slopes of which were found ancient cave paintings, images of people and animals, geometric shapes, and calendar entries. Local archaeological site considered the largest in Mexico.

Some researchers attribute the archaeological excavations and drawings to the gap from the 200 BC to 600 AD. One of the most interesting archaeological sites located at an altitude of 900 m, it is a rocky trail. To prevent vandalism and looting this area is under the special protection of the National Institute of Anthropology and History. The road to the ancient attractions takes at least two hours. Mountains mostly covered by dense jungle. The park is home to a very large number of birds. The most interesting local species - white-tailed eagle - the real predator, a hawkish member of the family.

Fauna Park El Veladero is presented in small animals: rabbits, shrews, skunks, rabbits, sometimes manage to meet in the park coyote or deer. There are many boas and iguanas. Local boas reach a length of four meters.
